Making Your Payroll Simple
Payroll can be very complex and therefore it is important that your payroll accountant has the required knowledge to carry out comprehensive, timely and accurate payroll processes for your business, including Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), to complete the required payroll end of year returns (including issuing all staff on your payroll with a P60) and to carry out pension auto-enrolment assessments.
Even if you only have one employee, it is a legal requirement that you, the employer, must still offer a qualifying pension scheme and comply with automatic enrolment duties by completing a declaration of compliance. This requirement applies even if the employee does not want to be in the pension scheme. If the employee meets the eligibility criteria, they must be automatically enrolled. The legislation around Pension Auto-enrolment, that is controlled and managed by The Pensions Regulator, can be complex and challenging.
